Education
- Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA (1984)
- Marriage and Family Therapy certification from Council for Relationships, Philadelphis, PA (2009)
Areas of clinical focus
- Relationship/communication/marital therapy, premarital counseling, couples challenged by mental illness affliction, EMDR for single event trauma and children caring for aging population.
Training/Experience
- Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to help individuals who experienced single event trauma such as accident, rape or physical assault.
- Trained in sex therapy to help individuals understand prior dysfunctions/traumas that lead to chronic sexual disconnection. Worked with both heterosexual and gay/lesbian couples.
- Conducted psychoeducational intervention to patients and their families by providing information about the mental illness and specific guidelines for ongoing management and medication compliance as well as problem solving to enhance coping skills.
